How it all started...
CrossingPoint was birthed from a desire to see lives change through belief in Jesus Christ and flourish through a determination to live Christ. The first service of CrossingPoint Christian Church took place on January 21, 2002 in the living room of Pastor Craig & Shannon Hayes. At that time, six people joined our new congregation with the intent of growing as Christian disciples and sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The following Sunday, CrossingPoint began holding services in the Burton Elementary School Cafeteria. As the congregation grew, our church continued to minister to the East Fort Bend community for the next 16 years.
Expanding the vision...
In 2018, CrossingPoint (now affectionately known as 'The Cross') expanded into Brazoria County. Beginning with a Bible Study in the newly developed Meridiana Community, the Lord led CrossingPoint to expand its mission to Love BIG and relocate permanently to Rosharon, Texas. With every challenge, God continued to grow The Cross. In 2019, our church secured an adjacent warehouse that is now the Cross 3A Center where we provide a growing variety of Arts, Athletic and Academic programs for the greater community. And in response to the COVID Pandemic of 2020, CrossingPoint continued to expand, adding its E-Campus, reaching families locally and globally, virtually and through social media.
Where we are headed...
Moving forward, The Cross plans to love BIGGER! As we engage further in the communities we serve, The Cross will deepen its strategic partnerships and find ways to meet the real needs of the families around us.
We are headed toward equipping those we serve to be highly missional, fearlessly speaking of the work God has done in their lives, making efforts to shape communities based in generosity and service in the workplace as well as in their personal relationships. We are sending out a generation of well-equipped men and women who have brought every area of their lives under submission to the rule of Christ. These same servants of Christ are becoming men of vision and purpose, women of virtue and power, and ultimately, people who are recognized by the love they display to every guest, friend, and stranger.
Our future vision includes development of The Main Cross Campus (future home to CrossingPoint Cathedral and CrossingPoint Academy), The Lighthouse Counseling & Family Center featuring a crisis pregnancy program, the Jamestown extension of the Silas Prison Ministry, a Missouri City Campus, and a growing network of church plants globally.
